I feel like a dumb, dumb...but need your help!

This has been taxing me for the past two weeks and I have reached the point where I feel really stupid for not being able to figure this out.

I have tried, every way imaginable, to post a clickable thumbnail of larger images (like a wallpaper) so that I don't mess up everyone's inbox!

For the life of me I cannot get anything to work!

I have tried:
  • Every permeatation of the html code that Photobucket generates. It says clickable link but all that happens is I get a whole load of code when I post...no thumbnail!

  • Have tried imageshack too, same as above, and a few different ways suggested by others, but the best I get is a thumbnail but it link to the larger image!

  • Even tried snapshots but have NO idea what it is that they do!

OK, hoping someone can help as I really want to figure this out as it's super frustrating seeing it is possible in other posts, just not mine!

When you are posting the photobucket code make sure you are not using the rich text area on the LJ page. You need to insert the code in the html mode...

These things are only easy when you know...otherwise they are banging heads on desks kind of stuff...it was easier(ish) when you had to post everything on LJ in html mode...it made people learn some basics.

But using rich text makes it easier to see what you are doing...

I'm glad it got sorted! I didn't think of that myself! It seems I've accidentally used the right method the last time I tried.
